Antique English George III Chippendale Period Pine Country House Double Bookcase

A mid 18th century Chippendale period pine country house double bookcase cabinet featuring a fluted and ornate fret-carved cornice with large carved acorn topped urn finials above a dot & dentil moulded frieze and twin pairs of astragal glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, on a projecting base with a long drawer over a pair of moulded panel doors to each side and all raised on a plinth base.

Super quality especially to the fretwork, a very similar pattern of which can be seen in Thomas Chippendale’s pattern book ‘The Gentleman and Cabinet-maker's Director’, in good overall condition with minor small losses to some of the dentils and some losses to the mouldings, we can arrange for these to be replaced if required, other marks as expected commensurate with age & use, locks probably replaced but come with key for the upper doors (there are no locks to drawers), unusual brass door catches, possibly previously had a limed finish. Splits vertically down the middle with metal pins to locate top cornice together, can also be used as two separate narrower bookcases.

LARGE American Made Traditional Inliad Mahogany China Cabinet

American-made and vintage 6-door display cabinet or china cabinet with locking doors. This cabinet has oval inlaid door panels, a simple and classical low-profile crown with dental molding, and side windows. This cabinet is in very good condition. The glass shelves have dish grooves, but one glass shelf has a chip on it. Cabinet is in amazing condition for its age, and it is ready for a new home. Measurements: 103″Wx17.5″Dx84.5″H

Service for 12 Of Minton Gilded Laurel Plates

Here is a pristine raised-paste 22-karat gold service from the storied firm of Minton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire England. The set features the timeless laurel motif, first used thousands of years ago in Greek art. To the ancient Greeks the laurel wreath was a symbol of victory, honor and peace, and hence they crowned their olympic champions with them.

The design features tangential laurel leaves circumnavigating the plate in 22-karat gold on a cream rim. The laurel motif is echoed in acid-etched 22-karat gold bands around both the plate well and plate rim for a truly elegant service.

The set includes dinner, salad and bread plates, as well as teacups and saucers. An extra teacup and saucer is included for 62 pieces total. Made for Shreve, Crump & Low and Company, Boston.

The service consists of:

12 dinner plates, 10 1/2" wide,

12 salad/dessert plates , 7 3/4" wide,

12 bread and butter plates, 6 1/4" wide,

13 teacups and saucers, cup: 4 1/2 wide, 2" high, saucer: 5 1/2" wide
