George III Medium Urn Console Table
Have you been searching for a classic piece to put the finishing touch on your entryway or living room? Laurel Crown’s Georgian sofa table may be just what you need to create an old-world aesthetic that leaves a lasting impression. Georgian furnishings were defined by delicacy, elegance, and fine proportions, all of which we worked hard to reproduce in this graceful George III console table. Each detail is carved, sanded, and finished by hand with care and contemplation.
At the height of the Georgian era, mahogany was quickly surpassing walnut as one of the preferred woods of furniture makers. In keeping with tradition, we handcrafted each Georgian sofa table using plantation-grown Honduran mahogany. This exquisite South American species features a beautiful brown hue and a pleasing straight grain, all accentuated by a satin semi-gloss finish that will bring warmth to your home. We also wanted to remain faithful to the classic details of furniture that was inspired by Roman and Italian arts, incorporating the sunburst, the acanthus leaf, and low relief work. Legs were also usually straight and slender, just like the fluted legs of our George III console table.

Genova Siluette Serving Dish Sterling Silver
On Erev Rosh Hashanah, we greet the New Year with foods symbolizing our hopes for the year ahead. One of the most famous and favorite customs is to dip apples and honey, and bless that we renewed for “a good and sweet year". The honey is presented in an elegant vessel which adorns the holiday table. Hazorfim’s collection of honey dishes come in a variety of styles and designs. Each honey dish is unique and each design has its own inspiration. Some of our honey dishes come with matching plates, and many combine quality crystal with pure silver. All have been meticulously handcrafted by Hazorfim’s skilled silver artists and are made from high quality, sterling silver.
English Fox Hunting Scene Horse Hounds Oil Painting Signed William Framed
This magnificent original oil painting on canvas portrays an iconic English fox hunt scene, rendered with energy and finesse by the artist signed "William." The composition captures a dynamic moment: a huntsman in red coat astride a galloping horse, followed closely by a lively pack of hounds across the countryside. The sense of motion, excitement, and tradition is palpable in every brushstroke.
Executed in a classic academic style, this large-scale work showcases detailed anatomy of both animals and rider, as well as a richly textured landscape bathed in soft natural light. The ornate, gilded antique frame complements the painting perfectly and adds to its distinguished presence — ready to hang and impress in any traditional or equestrian-themed interior.
A rare and collectible piece for lovers of hunting art, animal painting, or English sporting scenes.
J.E. Caldwell Sterling Coffee Tea Service Set 6 Piece Art Nouveau
beautiful, hand made museum quality 6 piece tea and coffee service set with a large serving tray by J.E. Caldwell Philadelphia in sterling silver. The entire estate set is composed of sterling silver and stamped with J.E. Caldwell, sterling and makers marks. Based on our estimates, this art nouveau style set is from around the turn of the 20th century. Every lid, handle and moving part functions properly. There are signs of wear, scratches and even small dents, pitting and oxidization (which can be mostly cleaned with a good polish). This is vintage condition. That being said -- it has been very well kept and is in great shape for its age. The burner appears to function like a vintage lighter using cotton or rayon balls - this cheap material is untested and will likely need to be replaced. We have included a sterling spoon that just has "Sterling" and a "W" on it -- this is likely not from the set but it was used by the original owners with this set for years so we will be including it for continuity.
- Tray - 21” by 16” - 145 ozt
- Burner and kettle 75.9 ozt - 11” total height to lid - 7” base diameter - 10” wide from spout to handle

The Waterford maker's mark is an essential feature that authenticates genuine Waterford crystal. Over the years, Waterford Crystal has used several different marks to signify its craftsmanship, heritage, and authenticity. Here's an overview of the key Waterford maker's marks:
Early Marks
**18th and 19th Century:**
- **Original Waterford:** During the original production period in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Waterford pieces were not consistently marked. Some early pieces may have a simple etching of "Waterford" or may lack a mark entirely.
20th Century Onward
**Post-1947 Revival:**
- **Etched Marks:** After Waterford Crystal was revived in 1947, the company began etching a distinctive mark onto its pieces. The most common mark from this period is the word "Waterford" etched in a Gothic-style font. This mark is usually found on the base or the underside of the item.
- **Seahorse Logo:** Starting in the late 20th century, Waterford introduced a seahorse logo as part of its maker's mark. The seahorse, often seen in conjunction with the word "Waterford," symbolizes the brand’s Irish heritage and maritime connections.
Variations and Special Marks
**Special Edition and Limited Runs:**
- **Additional Markings:** Limited edition pieces or special runs may feature additional marks or engravings to denote their exclusivity. These could include a year, a designer's signature, or a specific series name.
- **Commemorative Marks:** On certain commemorative pieces, such as those celebrating significant anniversaries or events, you might find unique marks that highlight the occasion.
**Modern Era:**
- **Laser-Etched Marks:** In more recent years, Waterford has adopted laser etching technology, allowing for more precise and consistent marks. The modern mark typically includes the "Waterford" name and the seahorse logo.
- **Country of Origin:** Modern marks may also include information about the country of origin. For pieces made in Ireland, you might see "Made in Ireland" or similar wording etched alongside the maker's mark.
Authenticity Verification
**Checking the Mark:**
- **Location:** Look for the maker's mark on the base or underside of the crystal piece. It is often subtle and may require careful inspection under good lighting to see clearly.
- **Clarity and Precision:** Genuine marks are typically clear and precisely etched. Blurry or poorly executed marks could indicate a counterfeit item.
The Waterford maker's mark is a crucial aspect of identifying and verifying genuine Waterford crystal. Understanding the variations and history of these marks can help collectors and enthusiasts ensure they have authentic pieces.
The Waterford Lismore pattern of 1970-1980 is a testament to the enduring appeal and exquisite craftsmanship that has defined Waterford Crystal for centuries. By 1970, the Lismore pattern, introduced in 1952, had firmly established itself as a symbol of elegance and luxury. Here's a more detailed look at the hand-cut Waterford Lismore pattern during that time:
Craftsmanship
**Artisan Skills:**
- **Master Craftsmen:** Each piece of Waterford Lismore crystal from this era was hand-cut by master craftsmen who had honed their skills over many years. These artisans were adept at transforming raw crystal into beautifully detailed works of art.
- **Intricate Cutting Process:** The process of creating the Lismore pattern involved several stages, including marking, cutting, smoothing, and polishing. Artisans used diamond-tipped wheels to cut the distinctive diamond and wedge patterns into the crystal.
- **Attention to Detail:** The craftsmanship required a high level of precision and attention to detail. Each piece was inspected multiple times to ensure it met Waterford's rigorous quality standards.
**Design Features:**
- **Diamond and Wedge Cuts:** The Lismore pattern is characterized by its intricate combination of diamond cuts (small, flat facets) and wedge cuts (long, V-shaped cuts). These cuts create a pattern that reflects and refracts light, giving the crystal its signature sparkle.
- **Symmetry and Balance:** The design is noted for its symmetry and balance, with each cut carefully placed to create a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing pattern.
- **Clarity and Brilliance:** The quality of the crystal itself is essential. Waterford used high-quality lead crystal, which is known for its clarity and brilliance, enhancing the visual impact of the Lismore pattern.
### Cultural and Historical Context
**Popularity in the 1970s:**
- **Luxury and Status:** By 1970, the Lismore pattern had become a symbol of luxury and status. It was often used in high-end dining settings and was a popular choice for wedding gifts and special occasions.
- **Global Reach:** Waterford Crystal, including the Lismore pattern, was highly regarded worldwide. The brand's reputation for quality and craftsmanship made it a sought-after name in crystalware.
**Cultural Significance:**
- **Heirloom Quality:** Pieces from this era were often considered heirlooms, passed down through generations. The durability and timeless design of the Lismore pattern ensured its continued value and desirability.
- **Symbol of Irish Craftsmanship:** Waterford Crystal, and the Lismore pattern in particular, was a proud representation of Irish craftsmanship. The company’s heritage and dedication to traditional methods were integral to its identity.
### Specific Items
**Variety of Pieces:**
- **Stemware and Barware:** In 1975, the Lismore pattern included a wide range of stemware (wine glasses, champagne flutes, etc.) and barware (tumblers, decanters, etc.). Each piece featured the signature cuts that defined the pattern.
- **Home Décor Items:** The collection also extended to home décor items such as vases, bowls, and candle holders, all adorned with the intricate Lismore pattern.
- **Special Editions:** Waterford occasionally released special editions or limited runs of Lismore items, which were highly coveted by collectors.
**Collectibility:**
- **Vintage Appeal:** Lismore pieces from the 1970s are particularly valued by collectors today. The vintage appeal, combined with the quality of craftsmanship from that era, makes these pieces highly desirable.
- **Authentication:** Collectors often seek authentic pieces from this time, looking for specific markers and engravings that denote genuine Waterford Crystal.
### Preservation
**Care and Maintenance:**
- **Handling with Care:** To preserve the beauty and integrity of hand-cut Lismore crystal, pieces should be handled with care. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures and harsh cleaning agents.
- **Cleaning:** Hand washing with mild soap and warm water is recommended. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth to avoid water spots and maintain the crystal’s brilliance.
- **Storage:** Store crystal pieces in a safe place where they won’t be at risk of being knocked over or chipped. Use padded storage boxes or wrap individual pieces in tissue paper for added protection.
The Waterford Lismore pattern embodies the brand’s commitment to excellence and its rich heritage of Irish craftsmanship. The hand-cut designs from this era continue to be admired and cherished by collectors and enthusiasts around the world.12 See less

Refined 17th Century Wool and Silk Antique French Hunting Scene Verdure Tapestry
Stunning 17th Century Wool and Silk Antique French Tapestry, Country of Origin: France, Circa Date: 17th Century – This exquisite wool and silk French tapestry from the 17th century is an excellent example of the quality that was being created by the French tapestry weavers of that time. This wool and silk tapestry holds a special place in history and is in excellent condition for a piece of this age. The scene is like looking back in time at a moment that was captured by the artist. This hunting scene is like a snapshot of daily life in 17th century France.
Until the 17th century, Belgium was the main source of tapestries that were made to suit nobility and wealthier clientele. The Flemish tapestries established a style known as “Verdure”, which references the abundant use of green in scenes that were overflowing with plant life. When King Henry IV decided to establish weaving centers in France, he had Flemish weavers come to aid in their establishment and teach the art form.
In the beginning, many of the early French tapestries closely resembled the Flemish tapestries, but as time went on, the French developed an easily distinguishable style. The subjects were often scenes of ordinary life. French tapestries focused on the fine details and often had a formal manor house or castle in the distance.
The French tapestries took cues from painters of the time, using perspective to give the piece a three-dimensional effect. They continued to depict abundant plant life, but the focus shifted to the scenery and people as subjects. As the focus of the scene comes closer to the viewer, you can distinguish fine details that give it a realistic look. For instance, you can easily distinguish the plant life so vividly that you could identify them. You can see the realistic draping of the cloth in this scene that is filled with images of abundance.
It is not unusual to find figures from Greek mythology in French tapestries. The ladies in the borders are in the Greek style, and you might notice Pan watching over this garden of delights. This tapestry would be an excellent addition to any collection and is an important historical piece. French tapestries are the perfect addition to décor styles that feature garden settings and the natural world. It will make an elegant, formal statement in any room.
