Château de Dampont

Us - Dampont Castle. Sole agent. In the heart of the regional natural park of French Véxin, we offer you a splendid neo-renaissance and neo-gothic castle protected as historical monuments since October 24, 2002. Erected in the middle of the 19th century under the leadership of Charles Guy de Kersaint and attributed to the architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, it was then in 1911 that the architect Edouard Redont created a magnificent park there consisting of a pond fed by the Viosne, a pier and a rose garden, the ensemble embellished with a few factories such as a false chapel ruin and a temple of Love. The freestone edifice is built around a large rectangular four-storey tower, flanked at some distance by two smaller three-storey square towers, themselves flanked by turrets at their corners. Covering an area of ??1,655 sq.m. and built over six floors, its composition is original and eclectic. On the lower ground floor, a set of vaulted rooms constitute the kitchen and use rooms. The reception levels are served by a superb helical staircase and include more than 600 sq.m. of lounges and reception rooms, one of which has impressive volumes and consists of a large bay with splendid stained glass windows, opening onto a balcony served by a double external staircase. This sumptuous library also benefits from an interior balcony decorated and supported at its four corners by monumental sculpted Atlanteans. The castle also comprises more than 250 sq.m. of rooms and apartments on the top floors. The furniture is designed for each room according to its size. The decorative elements are very original and of exceptional quality: monumental fireplaces, stained glass windows, parquet floors, painted and gilded ceilings, massive doors with original paintings, marble or mosaic floors, statues in their niches, mirror cabinet .. The property is also made up of several annexes located within the vast 70 hectare park. These include a riding school, a very large stable, several renovated dwellings and a charming barn, as well as a habitable orangery and a caretaker's house of 181 m2. This exceptional property with a romantic silhouette is a marvelous witness to the history and French art of living of the 19th century.
