Chippendale Secretary Bookcase

Laurel Crown takes extraordinary pride in our ability to reproduce furniture from some of the most celebrated eras. One of our favorite furnishing styles to reproduce comes from the Chippendale period of 18th century England. This secretary bookcase is a stunning example of the fine antiques that Thomas Chippendale would have handcrafted himself. We use only the best Honduran mahogany available because it was favored by the celebrated cabinetmaker and boasts a beautiful grain that seems to glow beneath our satin semi-gloss finish. Each secretaire bookcase we build is carved, sanded, and finished by hand to ensure authenticity.

Our antique secretary bookcase features a two-piece desk that will look positively spectacular in your living room or study. At almost eight feet tall, this Chippendale secretary bookcase commands attention and will serve as an elegant display for your favorite books, fine china, collectibles from your travels, or other relics worth showcasing with an added degree of panache. By choosing our secretary bookcase, you will gain 17 drawers and three shelves to store all your treasured belongings, not to mention the eight pigeon holes and 12 small drawers found within the drop-front desk.

Inlaid Round Table

This late 19th-century Italian round table is a celebration of marquetry mastery and visual geometry. The walnut veneer surface showcases an extraordinary example of Tarsia Rolese, a regional Italian inlay technique that creates an optical illusion of three-dimensional cubes.

This mesmerizing motif is laid with exceptional precision, each cube segment highlighting tonal variations in the walnut to amplify the effect. The top rests on a gracefully turned central pedestal, which itself is inlaid, and three elegantly curved legs that complete the balanced form.

The table’s proportions and detail make it an ideal centerpiece for a study, salon, or entryway, where it draws attention and admiration. Rich in craftsmanship and artistry, it reflects the late 19th-century revival of Renaissance-inspired design while maintaining a modern graphic appeal. A collector’s piece and a conversation starter, it bridges tradition and innovation, Italian heritage and contemporary decorative relevance.
